Baby Emma

It’s hard to believe it’s March already.  So much has changed in the last four months.

To start, little Emma Claire was born on 12/10/2010.  She was 6 lbs, 8 oz and 20” long – a little string bean.  Mom and baby had a little time adjusting post-delivery due to the drugs Mom took for her blood pressure.  But it all worked out just fine in the end.

She is the love and joy of our lives.

Our good friend, Lucy was our doula during the delivery. She was completely awesome, and I can see why now the hospital staff misses having her in Family Birth.

Dad is head-over-heels in love with is little girl.  And ever the proud papa, he can’t get enough of introducing the world to her – and having people say how pretty she is.

2010_12_18 Christmas program 1040492Eight days after she was born, she had her first starring role.  She played Jesus in the children’s Christmas service.  We were a little nervous about having someone else (an 11-year-old) carry her, so at the proper time, Dad carried her out and laid her in the manger.  She slept through the whole thing.

Our lives have been completely taken over by our new arrival … but that’s a good thing to us.

2011_01_21 603Mom was able to stay home for 7 weeks and went part-time for 1 before having to start back full-time.

Dad is now full-time caregiver and bottle washer (literally) during the day.

2011_01_30 660smIt’s amazing to look back at the pictures from December and January.  She has changed and grown so much already.

She’s met lots of family and friends already and has a pair of grandparents that refuse to go more than a couple of weeks without seeing her.

She is just as beautiful as the day she was born.  We are really enjoying our smiley little girl!
